Pond liners
are another example of how we
have adapted our vinyl fabrication expertise to suit the needs
of another important area, in this case, the residential pond, landscape lining
and aquaculture market. We use only
the finest quality fish and plant compatible materials to produce
long-lasting and aesthetically-pleasing results every time.
We stock several types of material that suit pond lining applications.
However, our primary material is black PVC stocked in both 20-mil
and 40-mil thicknesses. We recommend 20-mil
Fish-Grade PVC for most residential applications as it is
light yet durable and can withstand years of normal use even in
the harshest of climates. Our 40-mil premium
PVC option is best-suited for larger recreational ponds that
are intended for swimming or to contain fish and other wildlife.
The key is to determine what material is best suited for your
intended use.
We have broken down the pond liner ordering process to
a few simple steps:
-
Think about the
primary purpose of your pond. Is your objective:
-
creating backyard ambiance
-
personal recreation (i.e. swimming)
-
containing fish or other plant and wildlife
-
weed control or containing storm water runoff
-
Determine the shape and size, including depth, of your pond.
Following are a few considerations to keep in mind when making these decisions:
-
certain types of aquatic life require specific depths to thrive
-
going too deep may require venting under the liner
